The Electric Prunes Vinyl Records

The Electric Prunes are an American psychedelic rock band, formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California. Originally a garage rock band, they later became known for their experimental and avant-garde sound.

The Electric Prunes' most successful album was their 1967 debut album, “The Electric Prunes”. It featured their biggest hit, “I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night)”, which reached #11 on the Billboard Hot 100. Other standout songs from this album include “Get Me to the World on Time” and “Ain’t It Hard”.

The Electric Prunes also released two other notable albums: “Mass in F Minor” (1968) and “Release of an Oath” (1968). “Mass in F Minor” was a concept album based on a 16th century Catholic mass, and featured the single “Kyrie Eleison”. “Release of an Oath” was a more experimental album, and featured the single “Long Day’s Flight (Till Tomorrow)”.

An interesting fact about The Electric Prunes is that the band was composed of studio musicians for their 1967 debut album, and the band's leader, James Lowe, was only credited as the composer and arranger. The band's original lineup did not officially reunite until the 1990s.
