The Durutti Column Vinyl Records

The Durutti Column is an English post-punk band formed in 1978 in Manchester. The band's core members are guitarist and songwriter Vini Reilly and drummer Bruce Mitchell, and has included other musicians over the years.

The Durutti Column's first album was 1980's The Return of the Durutti Column, which featured a combination of short instrumental pieces and lengthy moody guitar pieces, and was influential in establishing the "post-rock" sound. The band's sound has evolved over the years, with the early albums featuring a blend of post-punk and jazz, while later releases explored ambient and electronica.

Notable albums by The Durutti Column include 1985's LC, which featured a combination of string arrangements and acoustic guitar, and 1989's Without Mercy, which featured a more experimental sound.

The Durutti Column's best-known songs include "Otis," "Jacqueline," and "The Missing Boy."

An interesting fact about The Durutti Column is that they were the first band to be signed to Factory Records, the Manchester-based label run by Tony Wilson.
