The Breeders are an American alternative rock band formed in 1989 in Dayton, Ohio, by Kim Deal and Tanya Donelly. The band was initially part of the alternative rock movement of the early 1990s and is best known for their 1993 single “Cannonball”.

Their breakout album, Last Splash (1993), featured their hit single “Cannonball” and is considered to be one of the defining albums of the 90s alternative rock scene. Their follow-up albums, Title TK (2002) and Mountain Battles (2008), were also critically acclaimed and spawned several singles.

Some of their other popular songs include “Divine Hammer” (1994), “Huffer” (2002), and “Bang On” (2008).

An interesting fact about The Breeders is that they have had several lineup changes over the years, with Kim Deal being the only constant member. Other members have included Kelley Deal, Josephine Wiggs, Jim MacPherson, and Jim Walsh.
