The Blues Brothers Vinyl Records

The Blues Brothers is an American blues and soul revivalist band founded in 1978 by comedians Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi as part of a musical sketch on Saturday Night Live. Belushi and Aykroyd, in character as lead vocalist "Joliet" Jake Blues and harmonica player/vocalist Elwood Blues, respectively, fronted the band, which was composed of well-known and respected musicians.

The band released two studio albums: Briefcase Full of Blues (1978) and Made in America (1980). The first album included popular covers of blues standards, including "Soul Man" and "Rubber Biscuit" by The Chips, "I Don't Know" by Willie Cobbs, and "Gimme Some Lovin'" by the Spencer Davis Group, among others.

The Blues Brothers' second album, Made in America, featured a mix of blues standards and original material, such as "Who's Making Love" and "Do You Love Me?" The album was certified platinum by the RIAA and was praised by critics.

The band is perhaps best known for their rendition of the theme song from the movie, "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love," which was featured on the soundtrack of The Blues Brothers movie in 1980. The song has become a staple of classic rock radio.

An interesting fact about the Blues Brothers is that their song "Gimme Some Lovin'" was used in a 2009 commercial for the Kia Soul, becoming a surprise hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song had not been on the chart since 1986.
