The Blasters Vinyl Records

The Blasters are an American rock and roll and roots rock band formed in 1979 in Downey, California. The band consists of brothers Phil and Dave Alvin on guitar and vocals, John Bazz on bass, and Bill Bateman on drums.

The Blasters released their self-titled debut album in 1981 and followed it up with their critically acclaimed sophomore album, Non-Fiction, in 1983. The band's music is a mix of rockabilly, rock and roll, blues, and country.

Their most successful album was American Music, released in 1985. The album featured the hit single "Marie, Marie", which became the band's biggest hit and remains a fan favorite. Other standout tracks from the album include "American Music", "Blue Shadows", "Border Radio", and "Help You Dream".

The Blasters also released two live albums: The Blasters Live: Going Home (1984) and Testament: The Complete Slash Recordings (2000).

An interesting fact about The Blasters is that their song "Marie, Marie" was covered by the punk rock band Social Distortion on their 1990 album Social Distortion.
