The Atlantics are an Australian surf rock band formed in 1958 in Sydney, Australia. They are one of the most successful surf rock bands of all time, having sold over a million albums worldwide.

The Atlantics are best known for their early singles “Bombora” and “The Crusher”. Their biggest hit, “Bombora”, reached #3 on the Australian Singles chart in 1963. Other hits include “Mr. Moto”, “The Lonely Surfer”, “The Cruel Sea” and “The Mad, Mad World”.

The Atlantics released several studio albums during their career, including The Atlantics (1965), Big City Rock (1966), and Red Hot (1968). Their most successful album was The Atlantics Live at the Basement (1977), which featured live recordings of their hits.

An interesting fact about The Atlantics is that they are the first surf rock band to tour the United States. They performed in California in 1963, and their popularity in the US led to the surge in popularity of surf rock music in the US in the 1960s.
