The Art Van Damme Quintet Vinyl Records

The Art Van Damme Quintet was an American jazz quintet formed in Chicago in 1945. The original lineup included Art Van Damme on accordion, Jimmy McPartland on trumpet, Johnny Guarnieri on piano, Bob Mook on bass and Ray McKinley on drums.

The group's first two albums, The Art Van Damme Quintet (1945) and The Art Van Damme Quintet Vol. 2 (1946), both recorded for Capitol Records, featured a unique combination of jazz and classical music. Some of the group's most popular songs include "September Song," "Autumn Nocturne" and "Tenderly."

The group released several more albums throughout the 1940s and 1950s, including The Art Van Damme Quintet Vol. 3 (1948) and The Art Van Damme Quintet Vol. 4 (1954). They also released several singles, including "Bewitched," "Cocktails for Two" and "La Paloma."

An interesting fact about the Art Van Damme Quintet is that they were the first jazz ensemble to perform on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1950. The group was invited to perform on the show several times in the 1950s, and they also made appearances on other popular television shows.
