Swamp Pop
Swamp Pop is a hybrid style of music that combines elements of Cajun, Creole, soul, R&B, rock and roll, and country. It originated in Louisiana in the 1950s and 1960s and is strongly associated with the Louisiana bayou region. It is often characterized by slow tempos, tight harmonies, and heavily accented vocals. Many of the songs feature romantic themes and are often influenced by American blues, zydeco, and other musical styles.
