Sunn O))) is an American drone metal band from Seattle, Washington that was formed in 1998 by guitarist Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson. The band is named after the amplifier brand Sunn and is best known for their pioneering use of distorted drones, dark ambient soundscapes, and their unique sound.
