Southern Comfort is an American southern rock and blues band that was formed in 1975 in San Francisco, California. The founding members included guitarist/vocalist Larry Byrom, bassist/vocalist George Hawkins, drummer/vocalist Jack Hall, and keyboardist/vocalist Jim Keltner.

Their first album, Southern Comfort, was released in 1976 and featured the singles "Where the South Winds Blow" and "I'm Your Lover". The album was a success and earned them a spot in the Top 40 charts. Their follow-up album, Southern Comfort II, was released in 1978 and featured the hit single "Something to Believe In".

In 1980, the band released their third album, Rockin' and Rollin', which featured the singles "Livin' It Up" and "One More Time". This album was even more successful than their previous releases and was certified gold.

The band released two more albums before disbanding in 1983. Their fourth album, Take a Look Around, was released in 1981 and featured the hit single "Take a Look Around". Their fifth and final album, Love and Comfort, was released in 1982 and featured the singles "Love and Comfort" and "Love Is a Beautiful Thing".

Some of their standout songs include "Where the South Winds Blow", "I'm Your Lover", "Something to Believe In", "Livin' It Up", "One More Time", "Take a Look Around", and "Love and Comfort".

An interesting fact about Southern Comfort is that the band's name was taken from a bourbon whiskey.
