Sleater-Kinney is an American rock band formed in Olympia, Washington, in 1994. The band is composed of vocalist and guitarist Corin Tucker, guitarist and vocalist Carrie Brownstein, and drummer Janet Weiss.

Their self-titled debut album was released in 1995 and they went on to release a total of nine albums. Their breakthrough album was 1997's Dig Me Out, which received critical acclaim and was named one of the 100 best albums of the 1990s by Rolling Stone. Other standout albums include All Hands on the Bad One (2000), The Woods (2005), and No Cities to Love (2015).

Some of their most popular songs include "Call the Doctor", "Dig Me Out", "One Beat", "The Fox", and "A New Wave".

An interesting fact about Sleater-Kinney is that they are credited with popularizing the "riot grrrl" movement in the 1990s. Riot grrrl is a punk rock movement that emerged from the American underground music scene and focused on women's issues.
