Slade is a British glam rock band that formed in Wolverhampton, England in 1966. The original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Noddy Holder, lead guitarist Dave Hill, bassist Jim Lea, and drummer Don Powell. The band had a number of hits in the UK throughout the 1970s and 80s, with their most popular songs including “Mama Weer All Crazee Now”, “Cum On Feel the Noize”, “Gudbuy T’ Jane”, and “My Oh My”.

Slade's most successful album was 1972's Slayed?, which reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and featured their most popular song, “Mama Weer All Crazee Now”. The band’s other standout albums include Sladest (1973), Old New Borrowed and Blue (1974), and Nobody’s Fools (1976).

An interesting fact about Slade is that their song “Cum On Feel the Noize” was later covered by Quiet Riot in 1983, becoming a major hit in the United States. The cover version was so successful that it overshadowed the original, resulting in the members of Slade feeling jilted.
