Skyhooks

Skyhooks are an Australian rock band that formed in Melbourne in 1973. They are best known for their 1974 debut album Living in the 70's, which was a major success in Australia. It was the first Australian album to debut at number one on the national charts, and was the highest-selling album of 1974. The album spawned the hit singles "Horror Movie" and "Women in Uniform".

Skyhooks' follow-up album, 1975's Ego is Not a Dirty Word, was an even bigger success. It was certified four times platinum in Australia and featured the hit singles "Ego Is Not a Dirty Word" and "You Just Like Me 'Cos I'm Good in Bed".

Skyhooks released two more albums, 1976's Straight in a Gay Gay World and 1978's Guilty Until Proven Insane, before disbanding in 1979. They reunited in 1988 to record the album Love on the Radio, which featured the singles "Jukebox in Siberia" and "The King Is Dead".

Skyhooks' biggest hits include "Horror Movie", "Women in Uniform", "Ego Is Not a Dirty Word", "You Just Like Me 'Cos I'm Good in Bed", "Jukebox in Siberia" and "The King Is Dead".

An interesting fact about Skyhooks is that they were one of the first Australian bands to have an international career, with their music being released in the United Kingdom, the United States and Europe.
