Sigur Rós Vinyl Records

Sigur Rós is an Icelandic post-rock band founded in 1994 by singer and guitarist Jón Þór Birgisson, bassist Georg Hólm and drummer Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson. Their music is known for its ethereal soundscapes, dreamy melodies and Birgisson's falsetto vocals sung in Hopelandic, a made-up language that is intended to convey emotion rather than meaning.

Their most notable albums include Ágætis byrjun (1999), Takk... (2005) and Valtari (2012). Ágætis byrjun is considered by many to be their best work, featuring the standout songs "Starálfur," "Svefn-g-englar" and "Hoppípolla." Takk... featured a more conventional pop sound and was their most commercially successful album, featuring the singles "Glósóli" and "Hoppípolla." Valtari was a much more experimental effort, featuring more ambient and minimalistic tracks.

An interesting fact about Sigur Rós is that they have been featured in multiple films and television shows, including The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Game of Thrones. They have also performed live at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.
