Sigiswald Kuijken

Sigiswald Kuijken is a Belgian violinist, violist and conductor, who is best known for his interpretations of baroque and classical music. He is a professor of baroque violin at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.

Kuijken's standout albums include his recordings of the complete works for solo violin by Johann Sebastian Bach, and his recordings of the works of Vivaldi and Telemann. He has also recorded a number of operas, including Handel's Giulio Cesare, Mozart's Don Giovanni, and Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice.

Notable songs include Bach's Sonata No. 3 in C Major, Vivaldi's Concerto for Violin in D Major, and Telemann's Concerto for Violin in D Major.

An interesting fact about Sigiswald Kuijken is that he was the first to record Bach's Sonata No. 3 in C Major on period instruments, in 1988. He has since gone on to record the complete works of Bach on period instruments.
