Sharks

Sharks are an English punk rock band from Newcastle upon Tyne, formed in 1977 by brothers and former members of the Angelic Upstarts, Alan and Carl Palmer. The band achieved commercial success in the late 1970s and early 1980s, and are often seen as one of the most influential punk bands of the period.

The band released their debut album, First Water, in 1978, which featured the hit single "Can't Seem to Make You Mine". They followed this up with their next album, Yellow Fever, in 1979, which spawned the single "Dumbstruck". Their third and most successful album, Who's Gonna Save the World, was released in 1981 and spawned the singles "Sharks", "Just Let Go", and "This Is Not a War".

The band had a number of other hit singles throughout the 1980s, including "No God", "Hearts of Fire", and "Do You Remember".

An interesting fact about Sharks is that they were the first punk band to appear on Top of the Pops, a popular British music television show.
