Hamilton has released over 20 albums as a leader, and has appeared as a sideman on over 200 more.

Hamilton's standout albums include his debut, Organic Duke (1982), No Bass Hit (1988), and Scott Hamilton Plays Ballads (1996). His most recent album, Back in New York, was released in 2019.
