Royal Scottish National Orchestra Vinyl Records

The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) is one of Scotland's five National Performing Arts Companies and is one of the country's oldest orchestras, having been established in 1891. The orchestra is based in Glasgow and is the resident orchestra at the city's Royal Concert Hall.

Over the years, the RSNO has made several standout albums, such as their 2005 album "The Royal Scottish National Orchestra Plays the Music of John Williams", which features pieces from films such as Jurassic Park, Superman, E.T. and Star Wars. Their 2011 album "The Very Best of the RSNO" was a collection of classical pieces by composers such as Beethoven, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Dvorak, as well as some more modern pieces.

The orchestra has also recorded some popular songs, such as their rendition of "The Proclaimers' 500 Miles" and the soundtrack to the film "Braveheart".

An interesting fact about the RSNO is that they are the only full-time symphony orchestra in Scotland and they have performed at prestigious events such as the opening and closing ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games in 2014.
