Ronnie Laws

Ronnie Laws is an American jazz, blues, and funk saxophonist. Born in Houston, Texas in 1950, he began playing the saxophone at the age of 12. He moved to Los Angeles in 1971 to join his brother, the legendary jazz trumpeter Hubert Laws. He soon established himself as one of the premier session musicians in the city.

Ronnie Laws's debut album was "Pressure Sensitive" in 1975. It featured his biggest hit, the popular soul-funk song "Every Generation". Other notable albums by Laws include "Fever" (1977), "Friends and Strangers" (1981), and "Classic Masters" (1993).

Among his most popular songs are "Always There", "Let's Keep It Together", "Tidal Wave", and "Stay Awake".

An interesting fact about Ronnie Laws is that he is the older brother of acclaimed jazz flutist Hubert Laws. He has been a major influence on many of the prominent jazz and soul musicians of the last few decades.
