Rick Springfield is an Australian singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. He is best known for his 1981 hit song “Jessie’s Girl” which topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Springfield’s music career has spanned over five decades and he has released 18 studio albums, with five of them reaching the US Top 10. His most successful album was Working Class Dog (1981), which contained the single “Jessie’s Girl”. Other notable songs include “Don’t Talk to Strangers” (1982), “Love Somebody” (1984), “Human Touch” (1992), and “I Get Excited” (1988).

In addition to his music career, Springfield is also an actor and has appeared in several films and television shows, most notably as Dr. Noah Drake on General Hospital. He has also appeared in the films Hard to Hold (1984) and Ricki and the Flash (2015).

An interesting fact about Rick Springfield is that he was a member of the Australian Army Reserve from 1967 to 1973 and served a six-month tour of duty in Vietnam in 1968.
