The group has released several studio albums, including their most successful album, Romantic Warrior (1976). This album featured the classic track "Romantic Warrior", which was written by Corea and featured a unique mix of jazz and progressive rock. Other standout albums include Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy (1973), Where Have I Known You Before (1974), and Musicmagic (1977).

The band's most well-known song is "Spain", which was composed by Corea and featured in the band's 1976 album, No Mystery. The song has become a jazz standard and has been covered by numerous other artists.

An interesting fact about Return To Forever is that in 1977, the band changed its lineup and musical direction and released the album Musicmagic, which featured a more electronic-based sound. The album marked a significant shift in the band's sound and was not well-received by fans. The band reverted back to its jazz fusion sound shortly afterwards.
