Renaissance Vinyl Records

Renaissance is a progressive rock and symphonic rock band formed in 1969 in London, England. It is noted for its blend of classical and rock music, and for featuring former Yardbirds guitarist Jimmy Page in its early years.

Renaissance's first three albums, Renaissance (1969), Illusion (1971) and Ashes Are Burning (1973), are considered to be the band's most successful and most popular albums. They feature lush orchestrations, intricate guitar work and soaring vocals by lead singer Annie Haslam. Standout songs from these albums include "Carpet of the Sun," "Can You Understand," "Mother Russia" and "Ashes Are Burning."

In 1978, Renaissance released the album A Song for All Seasons, which featured the hit single "Northern Lights." The album became the band's most successful and featured a more mainstream sound than their earlier albums.

Renaissance's most recent album is Grandine il Vento, released in 2013.

An interesting fact about Renaissance is that their name was originally spelled "RenaissancE" with an E at the end. This was to distinguish the band from the French art movement of the same name.
