Ravi Shankar Vinyl Records
Ravi Shankar (1920-2012) was an Indian musician and composer who is best known for popularizing the sitar and Indian classical music in the West. He was a leading figure in the Indian classical music scene and performed with a variety of other artists, including his daughter Anoushka Shankar. Shankar's work has been featured in many films, and he won three Grammy Awards.
Some of Shankar's standout albums include Three Ragas (1956), East Meets West (1977), Chants of India (1997), and The Living Room Sessions Part 1 (2012). His songs include "Raga Jog," "Raga Puriya-Dhanashri/Gat In Sawarital," "Raga Pilu," and "The Lord of the Universe."
An interesting fact about Ravi Shankar is that he is the father of singer Norah Jones. He was married to her mother Sue Jones for many years, and he is the one who introduced her to music.
