Ralph McTell

Ralph McTell is an English singer-songwriter and acoustic guitarist, who has been active since the 1960s. He is best known for his song "Streets of London" which was released in 1974 and became a worldwide hit, as well as being included in the soundtrack of films such as Notting Hill and The Full Monty.

McTell's debut album, Eight Frames a Second, was released in 1969 and was followed by a further nine studio albums, including Spiral Staircase (1970), Easy (1972) and Not Till Tomorrow (1975). He has also released several live albums, compilations and collaborations with other artists.

McTell's standout albums include Spiral Staircase, Easy and Not Till Tomorrow, which featured several of his best-known songs such as "Streets of London", "Spiral Staircase" and "From Clare to Here". Other popular songs include "The Mermaid", "Can I Get There By Candlelight" and "The Carnival is Over".

An interesting fact about Ralph McTell is that he has written songs for other artists, including Elton John, who recorded McTell's song "The North", and also collaborated with Van Morrison on the track "Coney Island".
