Philip Bailey is an American singer and songwriter best known for his work as a member of the band Earth, Wind & Fire. Bailey has released a number of solo albums since the early 1980s, and has collaborated with many well-known artists, including Phil Collins, Herbie Hancock, and Quincy Jones.

Bailey's most successful solo album is his 1984 release, Chinese Wall. The album featured the hit single "Easy Lover" with Phil Collins and the title track, which was a Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. His other standout albums include Continuation (1983), Inside Out (1986), and Triumph (1986).

One of Bailey's best-known songs is "Reasons," a duet with Chaka Khan which was featured on Earth, Wind & Fire's 1981 album Raise!. The song was later sampled by rapper Kanye West for his 2004 hit "The New Workout Plan."

An interesting fact about Philip Bailey is that he is a devout Christian and has released several gospel albums, including the Grammy-nominated The Wonders of His Love. He also performed a duet with gospel singer BeBe Winans for the soundtrack of the movie The Preacher's Wife.
