Pearl Jam is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990. The band consists of Eddie Vedder (vocals and guitar), Jeff Ament (bass), Stone Gossard (guitar), Mike McCready (guitar) and Matt Cameron (drums). Pearl Jam is one of the most successful and influential rock bands of the 1990s, selling over 60 million records worldwide.

The band's debut album, Ten, released in 1991, spawned the hit singles "Alive", "Jeremy" and "Even Flow" and went on to become a multi-platinum success. Their follow-up albums Vs. (1993) and Vitalogy (1994) also went multi-platinum and produced the hit singles "Daughter" and "Better Man". The band's fifth album, No Code (1996), was a stylistic departure from the band's earlier work and was certified platinum.

Pearl Jam's most successful album is their eighth, Riot Act (2002), which was certified platinum and produced the hit single "Save You". The band's ninth album, Backspacer (2009), reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart. Pearl Jam's tenth album, Lightning Bolt (2013), was also a success and spawned the single "Sirens".

An interesting fact about Pearl Jam is that they have released two official bootlegs of live concerts and over two hundred live albums. The band also has a policy of not allowing their songs to be used in commercials, a stance that has been largely respected by the music industry.
