Patti Smith is an American singer, songwriter, and poet who is widely regarded as one of the most influential female musicians of all time. She has released 12 studio albums, starting with 1975's Horses, which is often considered her definitive work. Her 1978 album, Easter, was also critically acclaimed, spawning the hit single “Because the Night”, co-written with Bruce Springsteen. Her work often combines poetry and music, making her one of the most important figures in the punk rock movement.
