Pat Benatar

Pat Benatar is an American rock singer-songwriter who rose to fame in the 1980s. She is best known for her hits such as "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", "Love Is a Battlefield", and "We Belong".

Benatar's debut album In the Heat of the Night was released in 1979 and featured her first top-40 hit, "Heartbreaker". Her second album, Crimes of Passion, released in 1980, featured the song "Hit Me With Your Best Shot". The song reached number nine on the Billboard Hot 100 and is considered one of Benatar's signature songs. In 1981, Benatar released her third album, Precious Time, which featured the number one hit single, "Fire and Ice". Benatar released her fourth album, Get Nervous, in 1982, which spawned her biggest hit, "Love Is a Battlefield". The song reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been covered by numerous other artists.

Benatar has released a total of eight studio albums, the most recent being Gravity's Rainbow in 1993. Her most successful compilation album, Best Shots, was released in 1989 and featured some of her greatest hits, such as "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", "Love Is a Battlefield", and "We Belong".

An interesting fact about Pat Benatar is that she was the first female artist to be played on MTV. Her video for "You Better Run" was the second video ever aired on the network, and she was the first female artist to get airplay on the channel.
