Norah Jones is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and actress. She was born Geetali Norah Jones Shankar in 1979 in Brooklyn, New York, to American concert producer Sue Jones and Indian sitar maestro Ravi Shankar.

Norah Jones's breakout album, Come Away with Me (2002), made her a worldwide sensation. The album featured a blend of country, folk, and jazz, and included the hit singles "Don't Know Why" and "Come Away with Me". It won five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. Her follow-up album, Feels Like Home (2004), was a chart-topping success and featured the single "Sunrise".

Other standout albums by Norah Jones include Not Too Late (2007), which featured the hit single "Thinking About You"; The Fall (2009), which featured the single "Chasing Pirates"; and Little Broken Hearts (2012), which featured the singles "Happy Pills" and "Miriam".

An interesting fact about Norah Jones is that she has sold more than 50 million records worldwide and won nine Grammy Awards. She is also the daughter of the legendary sitar player Ravi Shankar.
