New Philharmonia Orchestra Vinyl Records

The New Philharmonia Orchestra was formed in 1964 in London, England, as a replacement for the disbanded Philharmonia Orchestra. The orchestra is considered to be one of the world's leading symphony orchestras and has released more than 300 recordings.

The New Philharmonia Orchestra has released several standout albums, including their album of works by British composers, Elgar, Walton and Arnold, which won the Grammy Award for Best Orchestral Performance in 1970. Another notable album is their recording of The Planets, by Holst, which was released in 1974 and is one of the most popular classical albums of all time.

The orchestra has also released several notable recordings of popular music, including their version of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," which won the Grammy Award for Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 1976.

An interesting fact about the New Philharmonia Orchestra is that it was the first orchestra to perform in the Royal Albert Hall in London, in 1871. This performance was the first time an orchestra was heard in the newly opened venue.
