Neu! Vinyl Records
Neu! was an influential German krautrock band formed in Düsseldorf in 1971 by Klaus Dinger and Michael Rother. The duo released their self-titled debut album in 1972, which was widely acclaimed for its mix of minimalist arrangements, driving rhythms and extended improvisations. The album featured the singles “Hallogallo” and “Negativland”, which have become staples of the krautrock genre. Neu! released three more albums, Neu! 2 (1973), Neu! '75 (1975) and Neu! '86 (1986).
Neu!’s standout albums include their self-titled debut, which featured their seminal track “Hallogallo”, and Neu! 2, which contained the classic tracks “Für immer” and “Super 16”. Neu! '75 was the band’s most successful album, spawning the hit single “Isi” and the fan favorite “Crazy”. Neu! '86 was the band’s final album, featuring the tracks “Hero” and “Neuschnee”.
An interesting fact about Neu! is that the band's influence is far-reaching, with their music inspiring bands such as LCD Soundsystem, Stereolab and Sonic Youth. They are widely considered to be one of the most important and influential bands of the krautrock genre.
