Mobb Deep is a hip-hop duo from Queensbridge, New York. Comprised of Havoc and Prodigy, the group was formed in 1992 and rose to prominence in the mid-1990s. Mobb Deep is best known for their raw street-wise lyrics and dark, minimalist production.

Mobb Deep released their debut album, Juvenile Hell, in 1993. They achieved mainstream success with their second album, The Infamous (1995), which featured their breakout single “Shook Ones Pt. II”. This album is considered a hip-hop classic and is often cited as one of the greatest albums of all time. Other standout albums by Mobb Deep include Hell on Earth (1996), Murda Muzik (1999), and Amerikaz Nightmare (2004).

Other popular singles by Mobb Deep include “Quiet Storm”, “Survival of the Fittest”, “Got It Twisted”, and “Burn”.

An interesting fact about Mobb Deep is that their name is derived from the street gang “Mobb Deep”, which was active in the Queensbridge housing projects where Havoc and Prodigy grew up.
