Mel & Kim Vinyl Records

Mel & Kim was an English pop duo, consisting of sisters Melanie and Kim Appleby. Formed in 1986, the duo released three singles, all of which became Top 10 hits on the UK Singles Chart.

Their debut album, F.L.M. (1987), was a major success and was certified Gold by the British Phonographic Industry. It produced their biggest hit, "Showing Out (Get Fresh at the Weekend)", which reached number three in the UK. The album's other singles, "Respectable" and "That's the Way It Is", were also top 10 hits.

Their second album, 1988's Read My Lips, was less successful and only reached number 44 on the UK Albums Chart. Its lead single, "I'm the One Who Really Loves You", peaked at number 18 on the UK Singles Chart.

An interesting fact about Mel & Kim is that they were the first British female pop duo to score a UK number-one single since Goldie & The Gingerbreads in 1964.
