MC5 Vinyl Records

MC5 (Motor City Five) was an American rock band formed in Lincoln Park, Michigan in 1964. The original lineup consisted of brothers Ron and Scott Asheton on guitar and drums, Fred "Sonic" Smith on guitar, Michael Davis on bass, and Rob Tyner on vocals.

Their debut album, Kick Out the Jams, was released in 1969 and featured their signature hard rock and blues-based sound. The album spawned the popular single "Kick Out the Jams", which became an anthem for the counterculture movement of the time. The band released two more albums, Back in the USA (1970) and High Time (1971), both of which featured a mix of punk and hard rock elements.

The band's influence was felt throughout the punk and hard rock genres of the 1970s and 80s, with their sound often being described as a precursor to punk rock. Their music has been covered by bands such as The White Stripes, The Stooges, The Who, and Guns N' Roses.

One interesting fact about the band is that their first single, "Looking at You," was released on the same day as the Woodstock music festival in 1969.
