Marty Robbins (1925-1982) was an American country and western singer, songwriter, and musician. He was one of the most successful country singers of all time, having released over 50 albums and dozens of singles throughout his career. His standout albums include Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs (1959), More Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs (1960), and Singin' the Blues (1956).

Robbins' best-known songs include "El Paso", "Big Iron", "A White Sport Coat (And a Pink Carnation)", "My Woman, My Woman, My Wife", and "Devil Woman". In 1960, "El Paso" earned Robbins a Grammy Award for Best Country & Western Recording.

An interesting fact about Marty Robbins is that he was a huge fan of race car driving and was the first country singer to race in the Indianapolis 500. He finished in 15th place in the 1972 race.
