Marc Bolan Vinyl Records

Marc Bolan was an English singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and poet who rose to fame as the frontman of the glam rock band T. Rex in the 1970s. Bolan wrote and recorded many of the band’s most successful singles, including “Get It On”, “Jeepster”, and “20th Century Boy”. He was known for his flamboyant stage presence, as well as his trademark glam rock look of tight leather trousers, platform shoes, and feathered hair.

T. Rex’s 1971 album Electric Warrior is considered Bolan’s magnum opus and the band’s definitive work. The album featured the hit singles “Get It On”, “Jeepster”, and “Cosmic Dancer”, as well as the lesser-known “Life’s a Gas” and “Monolith”. His 1973 album Tanx also featured the hits “Children of the Revolution” and “20th Century Boy”.

An interesting fact about Marc Bolan is that he was a member of the avant-garde psychedelic rock group Tyrannosaurus Rex before forming T. Rex. The band recorded three albums and a handful of singles before disbanding in 1969. Bolan later reinvented himself and his sound as T. Rex, and the rest is history.
