Love is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1965. The band's classic lineup consisted of singer and guitarist Arthur Lee, guitarist Bryan MacLean, bassist Ken Forssi, and drummer Michael Stuart.
Love's debut album, Love (1966), is widely regarded as one of the most influential and groundbreaking albums of the 1960s, and features some of the band's most well-known songs, such as "My Little Red Book" and "7 and 7 Is". Love's follow-up album, Da Capo (1967), featured the hit single "Alone Again Or" and the popular "She Comes in Colors".
Love's third album, Forever Changes (1967), is considered one of the greatest albums of all time and is credited with helping to define the psychedelic rock sound of the 1960s. The album includes songs such as "Andmoreagain", "The Red Telephone", and "Maybe the People Would Be the Times or Between Clark and Hilldale".
An interesting fact about Love is that the band's lead singer, Arthur Lee, was the first African-American musician to be signed to a major record label (Elektra Records) in 1965.
