Liars Vinyl Records

Liars is an American experimental rock band from New York City, formed in 2000 by Angus Andrew, Aaron Hemphill and Julian Gross. Their sound is characterized by abstract and dissonant instrumentation, a wide range of sonic textures, and often cryptic and abstract lyrics.

The band's first album, They Threw Us All in a Trench and Stuck a Monument on Top, was released in 2001 and was followed by two albums in 2002: They Were Wrong, So We Drowned and They Were Wrong, So We Drowned Remixed.

In 2004, Liars released their breakthrough album, They Were Wrong, So We Drowned, which earned them international acclaim and put them at the forefront of the post-punk revival movement. The album featured the singles "The Other Side of Mt. Heart Attack" and "Mr. You're On Fire Mr." The album was nominated for the 2004 Mercury Music Prize.

Liars' most successful album to date is 2006's Drum's Not Dead, which was produced by David Sitek of TV on the Radio and was voted one of the top 50 albums of the year by Pitchfork. The album featured the singles "Let's Not Wrestle Mt. Heart Attack" and "Plaster Casts of Everything".

Liars' most recent album, WIXIW, was released in 2012 and features the single "No. 1 Against the Rush".

An interesting fact about Liars is that they have released two albums that were entirely composed and performed on acoustic instruments. They were titled The Heretic and Sisterworld.
