Scored a novelty hit in '81 with O Superman from BIG SCIENCE. In her best-known performance Lilted States I-IV, a vocoder (voice modifier), music and images form a whole. Although from MISTER HEARTBREAK onwards she tended towards a more pop-tinted direction, her music retains visionary power with a sense of experimentation.

BRIGHT RED was produced by Brian Eno. THE UGLY ONE WITH THE JEWELS AND OTHER STORIES and LIVE AT TOWN HALL, NEW YORK CITY, SEPTEMBER 19-20, 2001 are live.
