Kevin Morby is an American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Kansas City, Missouri. He first gained recognition as a member of the indie folk band Woods before launching a solo career in 2013. His first solo album, Harlem River, was released in 2013 and showcased his unique blend of country, folk, and soul influences. His second album, Still Life, was released in 2014 and solidified his place as an up-and-coming artist in the indie music scene. Morby’s third album, Singing Saw, was released in 2016 and was widely acclaimed for its folk-infused melodies and his soulful vocal delivery. Singing Saw spawned the single “I Have Been to the Mountain”, which became one of Morby’s most popular songs. His fourth album, City Music, was released in 2017 and showcased his more experimental side, combining classic folk, rock, and electronic elements. Morby’s most recent album, Oh My God, was released in 2019 and was met with critical acclaim. The album featured the singles “No Halo” and “Nothing Sacred/All Things Wild”, which both received praise from critics. An interesting fact about Kevin Morby is that he is a huge fan of Bruce Springsteen and has covered many of his songs. He has also collaborated with musicians such as Conor Oberst and Ben Kweller.
