Keith Hudson

Keith Hudson was a Jamaican reggae singer, producer, and songwriter who is often credited as the originator of the “sing-jay” style of reggae. He was active in the reggae scene from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s and was known for his innovative approach to music production, blending traditional Jamaican rhythms with sounds from a variety of genres.

Hudson's most well-known albums include Pick a Dub (1974), Playing It Cool and Playing It Right (1975), and Rasta Communication (1976). His standout songs include "Flesh of My Skin," "Blood of My Blood," and "Slavery Days."

An interesting fact about Hudson is that he was the first reggae artist to record with a synthesizer. He was also a major influence on the punk and post-punk music scenes, with his work inspiring bands such as The Clash, The Slits, and Public Image Ltd.
