Johnny Griffin Vinyl Records

Johnny Griffin (1928–2008) was an American jazz tenor saxophonist. He was a member of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, a sideman to Thelonious Monk, and a leader of his own hard bop bands. He was known for his swift and virtuosic playing, earning him the nickname “The Little Giant”. Griffin's most acclaimed albums are A Blowing Session (1957), Way Out! (1959), and Return of the Little Giant (1987). Notable songs include “The Congregation”, “Stuffy”, and “My Funny Valentine”. An interesting fact about Griffin is that he was the first jazz artist to record for the now-iconic Blue Note label.
