John Patton Vinyl Records

John Patton (1935-2002) was an American jazz and soul organist, best known for his work in the 1960s with musicians such as Grant Green, Lou Donaldson, and George Benson. He also worked with vocalist Lou Rawls and the guitarist Melvin Sparks. He was one of the most influential jazz organists of the 1960s, bridging the gap between hard bop and soul jazz.

Patton's most successful albums include "Along Came John" (1964), "Oh Baby!" (1965), and "Accent on the Blues" (1966). His most notable songs include "The Way You Look Tonight," "Let 'Em Roll," and "Accent on the Blues."

An interesting fact about John Patton is that he was an avid collector of vintage musical instruments. He was known to own over 200 Hammond B-3 organs, including one that was given to him by jazz legend Jimmy Smith.
