John Entwistle was an English rock musician, songwriter, and singer, best known as the bass guitarist for The Who. He was known for his aggressive and innovative playing style, which was influential on many of the other bass players of the 1960s and 1970s.
Some of Entwistle's most popular albums include The Who Sell Out (1967), Tommy (1969), Who's Next (1971), and Quadrophenia (1973). He wrote and sang the classic Who songs "My Generation" and "Boris the Spider". He also wrote and performed the solo albums Whistle Rymes (1972), Rigor Mortis Sets In (1975), Mad Dog (1977), and Too Late the Hero (1981).
An interesting fact about Entwistle is that he was known as the "Oxford Librarian" in The Who due to his ability to remember lyrics and chord progressions. He also played several instruments, including trumpet, trombone, and French horn.
