John Barry

John Barry (1933-2011) was an English composer, best known for his work in film music. He wrote the scores for 11 James Bond films, as well as numerous other films, television shows, and stage productions.

His most famous and successful albums include the soundtracks to Born Free (1966) and Out of Africa (1985). He also wrote the soundtrack to The Lion in Winter (1968), which earned him an Academy Award for Best Original Score.

Some of his most memorable and popular songs include "Born Free", "The James Bond Theme", "Goldfinger", and "You Only Live Twice".

An interesting fact about John Barry is that he was the first composer to be knighted for services to film music. He was made a Knight Bachelor in 1999.
