Joan Baez

Joan Baez is an American folk singer and songwriter who has been a major force in the music industry for over six decades. She has released over 30 albums, including her debut self-titled album, Joan Baez (1960), which is considered a classic of the folk music genre. Her other standout albums include Blessed Are… (1971), Diamonds & Rust (1975), and Gone from Danger (1997).

Baez is well known for her renditions of folk songs such as "We Shall Overcome" and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down". She also wrote and sang her own songs, including "Diamonds & Rust" and "Farewell, Angelina". In addition to her music career, Baez is a passionate activist who has taken part in numerous civil rights, anti-war, and environmental campaigns.

An interesting fact about Joan Baez is that she was the first major artist to perform at the original Woodstock Music Festival in 1969.
