Jackson C. Frank Vinyl Records

Jackson C. Frank was an American folk singer-songwriter who had a brief but successful career in the mid-1960s. He was born in Buffalo, New York in 1943 and was orphaned at age 11 after a fire in his home. He was adopted by relatives in England and attended a school for troubled children. He was eventually sent to a psychiatric hospital, where he began to write songs.

Frank’s first and only album, Jackson C. Frank, was released in 1965 and was produced by Paul Simon. The album featured some of his most acclaimed songs, including “Blues Run the Game”, “My Name Is Carnival”, “Milk and Honey”, and “Don’t Look Back”. It was re-released in 1999 with bonus tracks.

Frank’s influence can be seen in the music of artists such as Nick Drake, Simon and Garfunkel, and Sandy Denny. He was also covered by the likes of Fairport Convention, the Waterboys, and John Renbourn.

An interesting fact about Frank is that he was the first artist to receive a royalty check from Paul Simon's record label, which was written out in the amount of $200.
