Icehouse is an Australian rock band formed in 1977 by Iva Davies, who was the lead singer and guitarist. The band's original lineup consisted of Davies, bassist/guitarist David Chapman, and drummer John Lloyd. Icehouse achieved international success in the early 1980s with their synthpop/new wave sound, scoring hits with songs such as "Great Southern Land", "Hey Little Girl", and "Electric Blue".

The band's debut album, Icehouse, was released in 1980 and was an instant hit in Australia, reaching #3 on the charts. It was followed by Primitive Man in 1982, which became the band's first album to chart in the United States, peaking at #99 on the Billboard 200.

The band's most successful album was Man of Colours in 1987, which spawned the hit singles "Crazy", "Electric Blue", and "My Obsession". The album was certified four times platinum in Australia and earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.
