British jazz trumpeter, clarinetist and bandleader. Later, writer, journalist, broadcaster and calligrapher.

Died: 25 April 2008 in Barnet, Hertfordshire, England, UK (aged 86).

Lyttelton (known affectionately as simply "Humph") worked with the British jazz pianist George Webb (March 1947–January 1948) and with his own bands (January 1948–1970s), along with many others. He later continued his career as a journalist and broadcaster, writing extensively on music and other topics. On BBC radio he hosted 'The Best of Jazz' from 1967 to 2007 and chaired the comedy panel-show 'I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue' from 1972 to 2008. In 1983 he founded his own record label, , named after his passion for calligraphy.
