Hugh Masekela Vinyl Records

Hugh Masekela (1939-2018) was a South African jazz trumpeter, composer, singer, and anti-apartheid activist. His career spanned five decades and included collaborations with artists from around the world. He was a major force in the introduction of jazz and other musical styles into South African music.

Masekela's standout albums include "The Americanization of Ooga Booga" (1969), "Grrr" (1977), and "Hope" (1994). He also released several hit singles, including "Grazing in the Grass," "Stimela (The Coal Train)," and "Bring Him Back Home (Nelson Mandela)."

An interesting fact about Masekela is that he was a prominent figure in the struggle against apartheid in South Africa. He used his music to speak out against injustice and to spread a message of hope and freedom. He was also a key figure in the establishment of the African National Congress Youth League.
